DVRC offers a variety of flexible volunteer opportunities for both groups and individuals.
By volunteering your time, passion, and skills, you are helping us to empower victims of domestic violence and provide resources to them for protection and to restore their self-esteem.
Complete an application to volunteer for DVRC below.
After completing the application, we’ll contact you regarding the status and if you’re selected volunteer, we’ll set up a time for a tour and to begin the fingerprinting process and orientation.
Because of the nature of the work done at The Domestic Violence Resource Center, volunteers are required to follow certain standards, including:
- Volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation
- The completion of a criminal background check including fingerprints
- Adhere to confidentiality practices
- Cultivate diversity and inclusion within the organization and maintain an inclusive environment with equitable treatment for all.
A note about background checks
Background checks require that potential volunteers complete detailed paperwork regarding their past living arrangements, education, and more, so the State of New Mexico can conduct the background check.
All potential volunteers will pay for their fingerprints to be taken. Volunteers may choose to have the fees for the fingerprinting process reimbursed after 40 or more hours of service to DVRC.
